DE MÉDITERRANÉE

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE is a documentary series produced in 2023-2024

by LOVE THE OCEAN with the support of OceanoScientific,

in a joint production : Rhône Mediterranean Corsica water Agency - TVMonaco.

 

In a three-minute format, twelve players from France's continental Mediterranean coastline

describe their professional activities and their relationship with the Mediterranean Sea and its biodiversity.

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE will be broadcast on TVMonaco during the spring of 2025

ahead the third United Nations Ocean Conference - UNOC3.

Episode 1 - Yvan Griboval - President of OceanoScientific association

Yvan Griboval, Navigator-Explorer, President of the OceanoScientific association and director of the documentary series TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE, introduces himself and describes the objectives of these mini-reports about people who are passionate about their maritime environment.

Episode 2 - Steve Molinari - Professional fisherman - Nice

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks on STELLAMAR with Steve Molinari, Nice's third Prud'homme. This self-employed professional fisherman lays his nets mainly along the Promenade des Anglais. He favors direct sales to consumers and local restaurants as soon as he returns to port.

Episode 3 - Olivier Bardoux - Professional fisherman - Saint-Raphaël

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks on LÉALISA with Olivier Bardoux, the third Prud'homme of Saint-Raphaël.

Self-employed professional fisherman for approximately twenty years, he is very involved in passing on his passion,

and shares his vision of the profession in the years to come.

Episode 4 - Alexandre Schmidlin - Professional fisherman - Port Saint Louis du Rhône

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks on L'ALSACIEN 2 in Port Saint Louis du Rhône with the self-employed professional fisherman Alexandre Schmidlin and his deckhand Jonathan Lledo. An advocate of sustainable fishing,

he explains his different practices with good humor.

Episode 5 - Pierre Boissery - "Coastal waters and Mediterranean coast" Expert -

Rhône Mediterranean Corsica water Agency 

Aboard the catamaran LOVE THE OCEAN, Pierre Boissery, Coastal Waters and Mediterranean Coast Expert 

from the Rhône Mediterranean Corsica water Agency, talks about the use of environmental DNA

for a better understanding of marine biodiversity.

Episode 6 - Rémy Simide - Scientific researcher and diver -

Paul Ricard Oceanographic Institute

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE meets Rémy Simide on the Ile des Embiez. Researcher and scientific diver from the Institut océanographique Paul Ricard, he studies the resilience of coastal ecosystems to climate change and biodiversity erosion.

Episode 7 - David Mouillot - University Professor and Ecology Researcher -

UMR MARBEC - University of Montpellier

Aboard the catamaran LOVE THE OCEAN, David Mouillot, University Professor and Researcher in Ecology

at UMR MARBEC - University of Montpellier, presents the Environmental DNA. He talks about the collaboration

with the company Spygen, for a better understanding of marine biodiversity.

Episode 8 - Philippe Rosellini - Professional fisherman - Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks on MERLIN 4 in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer with Philippe Rosellini,

self-employed professional fisherman since 1986. He explains his passion for his activity and shares his observations

on the evolution of the species fished in Camargue (France).

Episode 9 - Jérôme Bargas - Professional fisherman - Saint-Elme

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks at Saint-Elme aboard LE LONG, the traditional wooden canoe owned by Jérôme Bargas, First Prud'homme of La Seyne-sur-Mer and Saint-Mandrier. A promoter of pescatourism, he raises awareness among young people with an optimistic vision of sustainable coastal fishing.

Episode 10 - Jérôme Carvajales - Professional fisherman - Valras-Plage

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks on MA POME with Jérôme Carvajales, First Prud'homme of Valras.

A recreational fisherman since childhood, he joined the army before becoming a self-employed professional fisherman,

and talks about the impact of tourism on marine biodiversity.

Episode 11 - Jacques Lapeyre - Professional fisherman - Palavas-les-Flots

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks in Palavas-les-Flots aboard DOREMY 2 with Jacques Lapeyre, self-employed professional fisherman since 1990. He fishes with nets that he lets in the water for as short a time as possible, while changing site regularly to minimize his impact on the local ecosystem.

Episode 12 - Gérard Carrodano - Professional fisherman - La Ciotat

TÉMOINS DE MÉDITERRANÉE embarks on BARBE D'OR for a day of tuna fishing with Gérard Carrodano,

First Prud'homme of La Ciotat and self-employed professional fisherman since 1985.

He passes on his passion and experience to his grandson, Victor Habert.
